I think that displaying a 'Per-unit profit %' next to the 'Per-unit Profit' amount for each trade item listed would be very helpful.

Ideally the per-unit profit % would be another filtering item when looking for trades using the 'Trade Finder' tool i.e. only show trades above a certain per-unit profit %

Allow the user to enter what their percentage is for transaction tax to show how much potential profit there is after the taxes for buying an item and then selling that item are deducted.

I think this would help people eliminate a lot of trades from being listed that have high potential profits but are actually money losers depending on your trading skills.

If a either of the two stations along a route have more than one buy or sell order of the same item and the price of the other buy and sell orders is close to the best than they should be added to the route.

for instance:
Jita has three buy orders for 200 mexallon (all at 1 standard deviation from each other or something)
Motsu has 1 sell order for 600 mexallon
then the units tradeable should be 600

Ex: My player is located in Hek, and eve central finds a trade from Rens to Aldrat. The profit per jump will include the number of jump from the start location (Hek) to the buy location (Rens), and add them to the number of jumps to the sell location (Aldrat).
Currently, the trade with the highest profit per jump may not actually be the best option because you have to waste time getting there; there may be a better trade, which may have a smaller profit per jump, but is much closer (and has a better overall profit per jump)

Say I want to go to the citadel from verge vendor, I could find the best item to buy from any regions that i will pass by and sell them to any regions that are left until i reach my destination.

ex: for example, my trip takes me from verge vendor to the forge, and goes through the regions genesis, essence and the citadel. If i want to find the best trade item, it will look for items in all of the regions that i will pass through, choose a buy point/item, and find a sell point that is in a region that you will pass by to reach your final destination (to prevent back tracking)

Imagine if you will- I open the IGB to this page and it knows my current region (at time of open- with refresh button to grab new current region) and gives me a list of links that I can right-click "View Market Info" to quickly and easily grab market exports for you.

It would be nice to have an upload suggestion that worked a bit better than just the XML page (/api/upload_suggest?region=10000002 for example). Ideally I’d like to see the following.

1. Works in the IGB – Usually when I’m looking through the market I’m out ratting or something, some dull process that doesn’t require a lot of my attention. I try my best to remember to export everything from the market. Having the upload suggest work in IGB would give me something to do at the same time as I’m ratting.

2. Have the items listed from oldest updated to newest updated (freshest first) on the upload suggest page and list how long ago items were updated. If I hit the page notice that the freshest item at the top was just updated 2 hours ago I won’t waste my time trying to update anything in that region.

3. List more than 5 items at once. At least 10, 20 would be nice. This just keeps me from having to hit your page every 5 minutes.

4. Marker, check block, something to mark an item as “No Orders Found”. This is only necessary if you have the items listed from oldest to newest (suggestion #2) and would just send that item to the bottom of the page (reset the last updated time) where it would slowly work its way back up as everything else was refreshed. Just to keep everything that we can’t export because no orders were found from sitting at the top.

5. Every item on that page is easy to copy and paste, so you can just copy it from that page to the market and hit upload.

You already keep track of when an item was last updated so all this would really be is a pretty page you can open in IGB. A little bit of database sorting to keep the oldest items on top, and a check box/button to reset the time on that item. I could be wrong, but I don’t think it would require a horribly large amount of work and I feel the easier access to what needs to be updated would help the site generate a lot more updates. Players would have no problem sitting there, ratting as I am now, and updating 20 or so items on that page. Basically just make the “needs to be updated” info more accessible.

A list of regions where prices are being uploaded from, so we can see where the gaps are, and during our travels we can make efforts to cover the areas not being uploaded, so eventually we manage to canvas all regions and have the prices uploaded. Side effect of this would be to make the less uploaded systems prices not time-out for several months, until there is another refresh.

e.g. "drake fitout composite" which could contain items that one would most use on a drake ship. Tracking their global ASK/BID prices and volumes turned over would be indicative of the popularity of the ship and certain economic indicators (war, more missioneers activity etc)

One should be able to construct their own indices like this (perhaps tied to EC login). One should also be able to publish these for friends/corp mates etc.
Each index could be constructed on the fly if not popular (not public) or pre-calculated daily for the poular ones. Not sure of the backend load involved
